I finally got the chance to meet Kristi and Derek just a few days before their wedding. We met up in Lake Tahoe for their engagement session. Just a few days later, I was on my way up to Taylorsville for their big day. Derek’s family owns the mill in Taylorsville, and was also playing host for the wedding. The reception was set up in the front of their property, with the dance floor (surrounded by hay bales) right in front of their barn. And the spot they chose for their ceremony had a beautiful view of the mountains behind it that still had snow at the top!
There were so many little details that Derek and Kristi planned out that truly made the day. From the Peonies, to the typewriter and Polaroid camera they had for the guests to use, every detail was thoughtfully planned out. I’m not quite sure who, but one or both of them has to have a major sweet tooth because they had the largest assortment of sweets I think I’ve seen at a wedding! Not only was there a table filled with candy for people to take home as favors, but the dessert table had just about every type of pie you can imagine, cupcakes, cookies, and they even had a small cake for them to cut! Congratulations Derek and Kristi!
