I love engagement sessions and am happy to be moving back into the season for them. As a photographer- not only do I get to know the couple I will work with better as we earn a trust between each other- but it is also “no pressure shooting”…it’s a creative flow that you trust and follow without any wedding day pressure or schedules. Weddings have a certain flow to them, an almost routine-like schedule that has to be followed in order to make sure all the bases are covered. Engagement sessions on the other hand are a whole different story. It’s all about fun, creativity, and trying new things. For me, it’s about listening and following your intuition and if your “brilliant” idea didn’t work as well as you thought it might…big woop- move onto the next idea. Just keep listening…you’ll know what is next. Religious overtones aside, I like to follow the light.
Meet Erin and Brett. Erin was referred to me by her sister Courtney whose wedding I shot last year, and I am so excited to get to work with the Zgraggen family again( many thanks to Jenn and Jeff for their initial referral!) Erin and Brett are one of those couples that makes being in the flow easy. Beautiful smiles, brilliant love for each other and a happy go lucky attitude. Well, and those flat sandals. So much easier to hike down to the water! Really looking forward to your celebration and capturing it for you all in photographs!

I totally agree with you about engagement sessions to. It’s more relaxing, laid back. I’m totally confidant at a wedding, but an engagement is more, I don’t know… it’s just lovely. It’s just about them, and not the schedule, and i love that. We can go where the mood moves us and we are restricted on the wedding day. I had a great session this week and I am so proud of it. Engagement season rules!
