A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Foothills

  • Last weekend I met Bryton in downtown Placerville for his senior photograph session. He was looking for some images with more of an urban backdrop- some more edge, some more lines. It suited him and it was fun for me. I was lucky enough to photograph his beautiful sister, Ayumi a few years back, ironically, in a lovely sunlit field. Goes to show you, all siblings are different, even by the same parents. Bryton is a great kid. Kind, respectful and was connected to the process of creating some senior photographs. I was even surprised by his dad Les, a…

  • “Sister is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship.” – Margaret Mead As the mother of two high school girls, just about 3 years apart and away at a boarding school together in Virginia, I am so grateful that they have each other to lean on.  I had a feeling their relationship would strengthen outside of our home, and it is. This was my sincere hope. I was so happy to get together with the Lockwood sisters recently for some new photographs. Beautiful girls. Rylee is a high…

  • A beautiful fall day, a very glowing and pregnant mama a wonderfully supportive husband and dad extraordinaire and a “fall in the dirt and smile” kind of toddler. Amber, Kris, Beckett + a baby girl who will they’ll get to finally meet in December. Such a great evening with you all in the fall colors. Thank you! Your complete gallery will be up soon but enjoy this blog of some of my favorites.

  • One of my most favorite things to do is reconnect with my wedding couples in order to capture their growing families. After Katrina and Joe’s wedding(maybe 6 years ago?), I actually had the honor to be at little Casey’s birth. Well, with the Sac traffic, about 2 minutes after it, to be exact. But just the same, the images from that day and those that I captured during her first year were put together in a bound hard book documenting those precious moments. I got to deliver it to them at our photo shoot and had fun watching Casey look…

  • I met Mariah, Charlie and their son Wyatt over a year ago at a coffee shop in Camino. I really enjoyed them because they were real. I know that sounds trite but honesty and joy that shines through is so refreshing and so much fun to capture as a photographer. They were down to earth and excited about spending the rest of their lives together and being Wyatt’s parents.  That day we decided it would be fun to work together so we made it official 🙂 A few months before their wedding, Mariah asked me if we could do a boudoir…

  • Emma and Marcus, born on the same date, and graduating from Ponderosa High School on the same date too! What a treat to not only get to capture the personalities of each of these dynamic, personable and intelligent kids but also their personalities and connection, together, as bother and sister, as twins. They have a lovely nurturing relationship and my camera had a great time and I did too…and we all enjoyed the gorgeous evening light down by the river. We started at Home Depot, all hopping into my car and driving down to Coloma together where I asked them…

  • I think it went something like this… Kaydence, Amber’s oldest, performed at Rockin’ on the Ridge, a broad showcase of musical talent from the guitar club. “Little” Kaydence wasn’t so little anymore and all of us who saw her live or on social media the next day, saw it too. I remember thinking to myself, “Is that really Kaydence?” Amber must have thought to herself, as many of us are thinking in these end-of -the-school-year days, “Omg, what the heck happened?” Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Amber asking if we could go out and capture some images of…
