You studied, you tested, you worked hard for years, and the time is officially here! It’s time to start thinking about senior photographs and I’m eager to collaborate with you to create photographs that you love. As a photographer, I want to make sure you are comfortable and having fun during your session.

South Lake Tahoe was this year’s destination and I met up with them right before I took off for a vacation. Their family has a home in Tahoe Keys and they love the area. Who doesn’t? Cooler temps, mountains, meadows, beaches, and sunsets.

The last time I met up with Elizabeth and Greg we were at Sand Harbor and Hudson, their oldest now, was getting ready to make his grand appearance. This was in 2019. Now Hudson is almost 5 and Perry is almost 4. Super cute and ALL BOY! We ran, we built castles, collected pinecones, looked for critters and at the end we succumbed to the lake. They were ready. Thanks, Elizabeth and Greg and also to my husband Jeff who joined me on this one to help with the reflector.

“2 months down until forever, can’t wait!” Michelle wrote this back in 2011 while responding to their wedding post on my blog. They celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Fausel Ranch. Over the years we’ve had many sessions-pregnancy, newborn, kids, first year, growing family…you name it. Last summer we met up at Fausel Ranch for an anniversary celebration for Deanna and David who own the Ranch as well as anyone who got married at the Ranch. Four generations of the Johnson Family gathered in Sacramento this past Easter weekend. We met up at Charles C. Jensen Botanical Gardens in Fair Oaks to capture some photographs of them all together since it had been a while. Let’s just say with five kids five and under, we all had our hands full but I think we got some great shots. Kudos to Brittany for organizing this photo session as it can be hard to add more to your plate when you have a young family. More to come from this one but here are some of my favorites.…

Curious little one-year-old Jaxon, with the cute, energetic smile spent some time with me in one of my favorite locations cruising around like a pro in the forest with mom and dad, Frances and Bobby who just moved to the area from Carmicheal. Jaxon even learned the word “tree” (‘twee”) as he held a branch from a local species backlit in the sun. Also joining in on the fun was Great Grandma Alice who had been staying with them for several months but would be moving across the country soon.  It was the perfect time to capture some memories. Lizzie and Paul were coming into town from Ireland where they live with their little one, Sive, meaning “sweet” in Irish.

And then there were five… This was my third time out to the Monsma home to celebrate their new addition – and by that I mean the adorable Baby Nash (not the master bedroom with the fabulous light that they added on between Elliott and Grady’s births). There is something so lovely about a December baby and the warmth of a Christmastime home. They just go well together. I loved getting to reconnect with Christy, Quinn, and the kids. Without a doubt, these early days are super tiring for mom and dad- not to mention taking care of the needs…
