I woke up this morning thinking I’d better get a few of these images up to celebrate Emma’s impending arrival. But who knows, right?
And then there were five… This was my third time out to the Monsma home to celebrate their new addition – and by that I mean the adorable Baby Nash (not the master bedroom with the fabulous light that they added on between Elliott and Grady’s births). There is something so lovely about a December baby and the warmth of a Christmastime home. They just go well together. I loved getting to reconnect with Christy, Quinn, and the kids. Without a doubt, these early days are super tiring for mom and dad- not to mention taking care of the needs…
Benito: meaning “Blessed”
and I’m certain his parents feel this way too. Look at those bright eyes and that smile! Benito stole my heart instantly.
Who doesn’t love a cake smash to celebrate a birthday…and with this cutie? This cake smash wraps up a whole year of sessions with the Skalos family starting with Shannon’s pregnancy and their family of three. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Ava. (thanks Ember for your help assisting) and we’re starting a new life…. Baby Ava, Newborn session Ava is 6 months old! Let’s head to Apple Hill!
Shortly after midnight on December 24, this little Christmas baby was born to mama Kristina and papa Josh. Sage is a super chill baby. With Kristina and Josh not having any time to set up a Christmas tree, we did the session in my home because I really wanted to incorporate the Christmas lights into his photography. These are such special times and as a mama of two college students, it’s a time that goes so quickly. Congratulations Kristina and Josh and welcome to the world, baby Sage.
The wild thing about having a toddler who is your baby is that all of a sudden she’s not the baby anymore. Just like that, she seems so big, so much older.
Back in December of 2018, I got to photograph Christy and Quinn as they welcomed their first child, Elliott into their family. (see here) Fast forward a couple years and now Miss Elliott has a brand new baby brother. Grady is pretty chill as it seems common for a second baby.
Well, it used to be that my most favorite part of photographing newborn sessions was getting a little newborn snuggle-time while also giving a tired mom and dad a little break here and there. In these times of covid, this is unfortunately not possible. I choose not to have any physical contact with these little babies. I can’t wait till this is not the case.
Maureen and Curt got married at a barn burner surrounded by the love of family and friends and the most delicious food(yay! paella) AND at one of my favorite venues, Fausel Ranch. A pretty stellar evening. This was in June of 2018. After buying a new home in Alameda and a honeymoon in New Zealand, they got to work on a few projects including some home renovations and baby construction. Little Odin arrived in September and I met up with their new expanded family at Fausel to capture them all, including Lucy, their rescue dog who enjoyed the wide open…
