A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Sac Area

  • Wow! What a site the Rose Garden is at McKinley Park is in Sacramento right now! I highly recommend a Golden Hour stroll through the uncountable varieties of roses. Additionally, having a subject as naturally beautiful as Mirielle made it especially fun for me AND at golden hour. Let’s just say, I was not the only photographer in this garden. There were lots of us, unlike her sister Acacia’s senior session, a few years back during the Covid pandemic where we chose a quiet riverside location along Highway 50, that we had to ourselves. Currently, Mirielle is interning as a…

  • “2 months down until forever, can’t wait!” Michelle wrote this back in 2011 while responding to their wedding post on my blog. They celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Fausel Ranch. Over the years we’ve had many sessions-pregnancy, newborn, kids, first year, growing family…you name it. Last summer we met up at Fausel Ranch for an anniversary celebration for Deanna and David who own the Ranch as well as anyone who got married at the Ranch. It was great to see them as well as so many other couples I have photographed there over the years. We talked about…

  • On the morning of the eclipse I write this post about Aidan, a future space engineer. Last week, we met up and tromped around through the woods off of Bass Lake Road to a favorite mountain biking spot that this Class of ’24  “graduate to be” wanted to share. While likely Cal Poly bound this fall to study Mechanical Engineering, his plans extend further to a Masters in Aerospace Engineering. One day he expresses, “I want to work for NASA building the habitats astronauts will live in, on other worlds”. THAT, I’d say is a plan! When not shuttling off…

  • Four generations of the Johnson Family gathered in Sacramento this past Easter weekend. We met up at Charles C. Jensen Botanical Gardens in Fair Oaks to capture some photographs of them all together since it had been a while. Let’s just say with five kids five and under, we all had our hands full but I think we got some great shots. Kudos to Brittany for organizing this photo session as it can be hard to add more to your plate when you have a young family. More to come from this one but here are some of my favorites.…

  • Graydon is growing like a weed. Having met him for the first time at his birth, I’m so grateful to get to check in on him annually and the things that make this eleven-year-old, tick. In fact, this is my tenth session with Graydon. Though this session did not include it, I understand that he is a star and fierce competitor in All-Star Karting. It’s something he’s been enjoying for a long time as his dad Tom is big into fast cars:) I plan to head out to the track so I can witness it for myself. Tom shared with…

  • Baby Robles will be making their debut this March so it was a perfect time to get out in the sunshine and capture some pre-arrival photos. The ground was still a bit muddy from all of that rain we had- but we managed to keep Caitlyn’s cute boots fairly clean. Caitlyn and Elijah come referred from some dear friends of mine so it’s always great to get that call. This was a new location for me so we walked around looking for the sweet light- and there was lots to be found. I’m so glad that they chose a package…

  • Engagement sessions are definitely the best way to get in front of the camera before your wedding day. For me, I get to spend some time getting to know more about the couple and what their connection is with each other, all prior to their big day. For the couple, they get to know me and a little bit about how I work while spending some time in front of the camera. Wedding days can be full of nerves and I find it is so great for us to all have worked together in a more relaxed situation. They know…

  • So far, Ember and I have been out for two senior sessions….one of the perks I imagine of having a mom who is a photographer. The first session was in downtown Sac with her good friend Fiona and then we went out again to Sly Park Lake while I was testing out my new camera, a Z6ii, mirrorless. The next session I promised her is with her famous and spoiled cat, Trouble…so stay tuned. It’s sure to be a quick one. I can’t believe my youngest is now a high school senior and graduating this May from CUP in Placerville.…
