Another Schafer brother is heading towards graduation. I’ve been photographing this gorgeous young woman since she was in pre-school at Pinetop Montessori so of course I said YES when I was asked to swing by and capture some images of her before she left for the prom for Union Mine High School held at Smith Flat House. As it is in Pollock Pines in the spring, you can’t really depend on the weather and there was a storm happening just up the hill. I first photographed the Ellis family when Ava and Ruby were very young. A couple years back we got together again to celebrate Ava’s high school graduation with a combo senior/family session. Last week, it was time to celebrate Ruby and her upcoming graduation from St. Francis High School. We did a combo senior/sister shoot. Sophia is another of those kids, turned adult, who my kids, turned adults, grew up alongside in our small town. Sophia is lovely and I had a great time photographing her. What a beautiful smile- and so much kindness is felt in her presence. Time certainly flies. She graduates from El Dorado High next month and then heads to Chico State to study Criminal Justice. Beautiful Greta…on a glorious sunny day out in the green, green hills at Cronin Ranch. Greta will join the Class of 2025 this spring when. she graduates from Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills. She was referred from a favorite family of mine so I knew it was going to be fun. Grateful for those referrals, always. I loved her energy, playfulness and kind heart. This May, Trent will join the Class of 2025 from El Dorado High School as they all walk across the stage into new adventures. At ELDO Trent was All-Conference and MVP, playing defense for ELDO Soccer. When his mom contacted me about photos, we decided on a combo senior/family session since they hadn’t had a family photo in many, many years. Each year I donate a handful of photography sessions to various fundraising raffles. This particular session was donated to CASA El Dorado, (Child Advocates of El Dorado) who provide support, empowerment, and a voice for the abused, neglected, and at-risk youth in our community. They do important work for El Dorado County and I am happy to support them. As it turns out, Jenn Krueger, the fundraising manager for CASA, won the family session. Karl and Martha eloped over the Christmas holidays at their beautiful riverside home tucked along the North Fork of the Cosumnes River. It was their unofficial 15th anniversary. Choosing to keep things simple and quiet, much like they lead their retired lives, Martha’s sister, Margaret officiated and Bruno, the cherished Lab, was their ring-dog. I love these two (well 4, maybe 5, I guess) and am grateful for our annual sessions. I met up with Madison, Hailey, Willy and Wildfire…oh, and Ace, Madison’s steer, last week at their place.
