A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Sac Area

  • Jane is getting ready to head to Berkeley in the fall, and her parents wanted to make sure that not only did we capture some memories of their daughter at this important time in her life, but also some photographs of her at her piano. I really enjoy incorporating activities that are important to a senior into their session. Jane has been playing for years and it has truly become a passion for her. A few years ago I photographed her brother, Karl as he was heading off to college and I am so glad they asked me back to…

  • “A wet knot is harder to untie than a dry knot”….and this is the ol’ proverb that is supposed to provide solace when it dumps on your wedding day. It dumped on my wedding day too and to this day, the wet weather will always bring back fond memories of the best day of my life: wet bride, lucky bride- I’m a firm believer! Karen and Dave’s wedding day was no exception. After meeting on Match.com and Karen, needing a little nudging from Dave to go out on their first date, they finally tied the knot in some of the…

  • Pollock Pines was digging out of a storm the day Anna and I drive down through Folsom over to Penryn to meet Trisha and Justin for their engagement shoot. It was a beautiful spring day(in Folsom). Everyone was out jogging, bike riding and walking over the Rainbow Bridge. I felt like I was in another world. Trisha and Justin met at Westmont College in Santa Barbara. Her first boyfriend and his last girlfriend! Easy going, fun loving and adventurous- we had a great time exploring a new location. They will be getting married at the Flower Farm in Loomis on…

  • I’ve truly enjoyed Courtney and Josh from the first day I met them (big thanks to Jenn and Jeff for introducing us). They are young, fun and ready to take life by the horns (and can tear up a dance floor too…just sayin’). They first met at church camp over 10 years ago, and apparently Courtney had her sights set on Josh from the first time she saw him. And here they are, many years later, as husband and wife. Their January wedding was a great way to start off the year. They chose to do a “First Look” which…

  • I’ve been working with the Anderson family for a good seven or eight years now- Jessica would remember:) . It was a challenge to figure out a location that they haven’t been to yet. We decided to trek down to Folsom, and shoot along the river for the evening. We spent most of the time just following the light, and the kids didn’t seem to mind being allowed to climb all over the rocks. We got some beautiful shots of the kids, and of the family. We decided to do a second mini session up at Boeger with Jessica in…

  • You may remember these two from this post last fall at the river. After the shoot they decided they wanted a guest book for their wedding. We decided to head downtown for an urban vibe shoot to compliment the river shoot and to make the guest book even more playful and full of life, like they are. Here’s the fun we had! These two are a great couple and I’m looking forward to their winter wedding in downtown Sacramento.

  • The upcoming weather forecast for the date of my shoot with Brielle and Trevor started to look bleak – it said rainy & overcast. I’m good with shooting in the rain-it can be fun, it adds a new element to work with, plus the almighty “umbrella prop”- so romantic!  Many brides would want to reschedule,  (having just had their hair and make up done) and I understand that, and would be fine with that,  but not Brielle and Trevor, they were up for “whatever the weather brings us on that day” ! I was so pleased  … it was going…

  • Alright, so maybe we were just a little scared a stampede of bulls were going to come charging over the hillside-it wouldn’t be the first time I survived a stampede– but the big blue sky and the white rocks (behind) the barbed wired fence on the hill were calling my name and Kim, Vern, Cassie and I were ready to check it out. Kim and Vern are a fun loving and sweet couple- can’t wait for their wedding at the Sequoia in May! Here is your slideshow~ enjoy!
