Happy New Year!

by Lisa Richmond

February 2024
Well, January just flew by. Happy New Year and thank you for supporting my business in 2023 with your photography sessions. From weddings to your growing families, I love to get to work with you and the opportunity to create beautiful images that capture who you are and who you are with the ones you love. I know how lucky I am to have a job that I love.

Yes, it’s that time of the year….The Class of 2024 and Senior Sessions
February 2024

For many of you, this is your last semester of high school or perhaps your child’s last semester. This magical time between graduating high school and beginning to take a step toward your next major milestone may seem scary. Trust me. I have been there! Looking back now, I wish I could go back and just savor those moments for a few minutes more with my own recent grads. You studied, you tested, you worked hard for years, and the time is officially here! It’s time to start thinking about senior photographs and I’m eager to collaborate with you to create photographs that you love. As a photographer, I want to make sure you are comfortable and having fun during your session. I will be your guide along the way, ensuring your experience and images reflect who you are and where you are at this stage in your life.

If you’d like a full list of packages or are ready to book, click on the CONTACT link here, or above. I’d love to hear from you.

Special Offer
The first 5 people to book their senior session(one hour or more) will receive, 16 retouched wallet-sized photos to share with your friends and family. Mention this special when booking and I’ll make it happen.

Senior sessions with full digital download of your images start at $295. As a bonus, any prints you order through your gallery will include skin retouching at no charge. Whether you’re looking for a 30, 60, 90-minute session or a 2 for 1-Share a Session with your friend, your session can include different backdrops, changes of clothing and skin retouching on all of your prints. If you’re a parent, I encourage you to hop in for a few photos with your graduate. It’s all included in your session. Inquire and I will send you out more information about my senior packages.

Plan Ahead
Several months before your session, two or three, give or take — is the best time to start thinking about your session. I’m normally booked out a month-two months in advance. I recommend getting an early date on the calendar so that if it rains we have more time and flexibility to reschedule (and in March and April, it often does in the mountains). I offer my senior sessions throughout the year. Parents often ask when the best time is to have them done, and my answer is always; whenever it’s most convenient for you and your child. For some, this means the summer after their junior year and for others, it means a few months before graduation. Fall and spring tend to be the busiest time for photographing seniors. I do recommend that you give yourself about two months before graduation so that you can send out announcements with the images we capture. Senior portrait photographs are also ideal for graduation invitations.

Start thinking…
*Think about what kind of a vibe you want for your pictures. Is it earthy? Urban? Academic? Be sure to check out my new, remodeled blog (https://www.lisarichmondphotography.com/blog/) where you can sort session categories by “Senior” as well as location ideas by “Mountains, Foothills, Sacramento area, and the Beach and beyond”- there are a lot of ideas for you.

*Start thinking about what location you want to be at during your session. I’ve shot against graffiti in Sacramento, at the lake in Pollock Pines, down by the river in Coloma, in front of a wooded backdrop in the mountains and more. We’ll talk in more detail once you book. Meanwhile, it’s a good idea to get the gears turning. Where do you love to be? What says “you”?

*Think about what you might wear. I recommend that you don’t stray far from your personal style. Make sure the outfits you wear are something you’d wear in your everyday life. For outfits, I recommend at least two changes, or even two different shirts. Layers and accessories are great for quickly changing up a look.

*Think about any props you might like to include (musical instruments, sports equipment, your car, a pet, etc). Of course, we’ll get photographs of you without props, but I want to make sure I include pictures of you with meaningful items that represent who you are.
