I always feel lucky to love the job that I have. On this particular day I felt even more lucky…Gretchen and Matt picked up me and Kristi (who offered to help me with the shoot) to head up to high country. Matt’s family has this most amazing property off of Ice House Road (have I mentioned that it is amazing?) WOW! The air was crisp, the sunlight was warm and clear and it was the perfect chance to get to know Gretchen and Matt (and Bee, one of the sweetest most mellow 2.5 year old dogs I have ever known)…
Earlier this year I went to San Fransisco to shoot Karl & Lauren’s engagement session and it was typical SF weather- foggy, raining, and misty but I was pleased that the weather didn’t keep them from the shoot and they were probably equally pleased that I didn’t mind getting my gear wet for their shoot! We all enjoyed ourselves running around like Golden Retrievers on the beach! Karl & Lauren held their wedding in the Redwood Grove on the UC Berkeley campus and had their reception right across the street at the Botanical Garden; both places were amazing and beautiful!…
Molly and Andrew were guests at Jorden and Becky’s wedding that I shot back in October ’07. When Molly contacted me about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a fun one. Not only did she love photography and knew it was important to her and Andrew on their wedding day, her groom, Andrew spent many years growing up just down the road from my home- Andrew’s parents are my neighbors! Our day started off up the street (gotta love that commute) and their wedding location was at Molly’s fathers home in Placerville; a beautiful home, with stunning…
Nicole and Treb had to change their wedding venue midway through their plans as their original venue seemed to be going out of business(accent on “seemed” which is not a great feeling for a couple who were planning a very large wedding). Shift forward to the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento and one starts to wonder if it was meant to be. A gorgeous, classy and modern hotel with a flavor of politics added in due to it’s location and tremendous views of the Capital. We had such a great time exploring all the nooks and crannies and fabulous decor…
I shot Tony & Tara’s wedding back in February of 2007. It is “the best” to be able to photograph a couples wedding and then photograph their next steps in life – like this one. Pretty soon I’m going to meet the next generation “Little”, ~Zoe Little~ ! Zoe’s due date is August 29th and there is no doubt in my mind that Tony & Tara are going to be the greatest parents! Congratulations Tony and Tara!
Todd & Lindsay had their wedding at the Fitzhaven over looking the entire lake in North Lake Tahoe on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I met Lindsay at her Matron of Honor, Jeni’s wedding, back in 2007. The joy and excitement between Todd and Lindsay was palpable. Todd had the greatest smile on his face all day (when there weren’t tears of joy). Lindsay was a gorgeous and calm bride and her bridesmaids were so sweet and fun to hang out with. The groomsmen- clearly ready for a great time! The wedding was beautifully coordinated by Merrily of Merrily Wed in…

The wedding of Beth and David was held at Valhalla in West Shore Lake Tahoe, CA. It was a perfect day; the clouds in the sky were bright & fluffy, the weather was comfortable & cool, everything was green and the water was a beautiful Tahoe blue. The family and friends attending the wedding were so much fun and happy to see these two finally be getting married. Beth looked stunning in her wedding dress and was so excited to be getting married to David! Congratulations you two for finally tying the knot! Enjoy your slideshow!
This year was my 25th year photographing the graduation at Chatham Hall in Chatham, Virginia. Ironically (not really) I also graduated from Chatham Hall 25 years ago (go Class of ’84 and golds!). Graduation from Chatham Hall is filled with traditions that stretch over several days so I arrived on Thursday afternoon with my assistant Cassie, ready to shoot. Cassie had never been to Virginia before and got to experience “humidity” for the first time(someone told her that this wasn’t really humidity). We both live at 4000 feet in the mountains- the air is pretty dry here. This year, someone…
Last year, on Jaz’s last day of kindergarden, I decided to pick her up after school and take her out for ice cream in order to celebrate the end of the school year. Little did I know that I was about to walk into what is one of the coolest(yeah.) Pinewood traditions ~ the summer send off by the teachers! Basically, the buses drive around the circle several times honking and honking their horns, while the kids wave out the window to their teachers who are cheering, and the parents who are weeping, both about another year gone by. The…
My little Ember bug graduated from pre-school. I can hardly believe that I now will have 2 school aged children at the same school! I asked Ember if she was a little scared about going to a new school and kindergarden and she said, “no I am ready!”…and she really is! Gotta love that “go get ’em” attitude! She is very excited to be at the same school as her big sister Jazzie! We will truly miss Pinetop Montessori which has been such a fantastic, safe and calm(and local) learning environment for her. The teachers there are fabulous and really…
