I first photographed the Ellis family when Ava and Ruby were very young. A couple years back we got together again to celebrate Ava’s high school graduation with a combo senior/family session. Last week, it was time to celebrate Ruby and her upcoming graduation from St. Francis High School. We did a combo senior/sister shoot. I love capturing sisters and siblings and also getting a chance to catch up with Ava. Of course, we had to include Poppy the beloved family doggie.. Animals are great for neutralizing the energy but in this case, it seemed the sisters were the ones neutralizing Poppy’s energy. Whatever it was, we were all laughing and laughing a lot! I guess it worked!
Ruby is lovely and I enjoyed having the time to get to know her better as we walked around. Sister Ava helped by chiming in to help Ruby settle in while Poppy had the best walk of her life! Ruby is interested in wildlife conservation and plans to attend CRC locally and then transfer to a UC. Just like Ava, who studied abroad in London, Ruby hopes to study abroad in Italy. She plays soccer and loves art and painting and hiking with Poppy. Her favorite musicians are John Denver, The Clash and David Bowie. When asked what she wants to remember about this season of her life she said, ” all of my family, friends and people who have helped me so much throughout high school and all the fun I’ve been able to have”. Go get ’em, Ruby. I can’t wait to hear about it all. Congratulations!
