Sofia & Andre’s Camp Nauvoo Wedding in Placerville
This season, I’ve found myself falling in love with smaller, more intimate weddings — the kind where every guest, every laugh, and every detail feels personal. Sofia and Andre’s celebration at Camp Nauvoo in Placerville was exactly that.
Tucked along Weber Creek, this beautiful, wooded venue offered the perfect balance of nature and community. Guests camped along the creek, shared in each other’s company, and enjoyed the easy rhythm of a weekend away from the city.
What made this day truly memorable wasn’t just the setting — though the afternoon light filtering through the trees was magical — but the people. This crew of “Burners” from the Bay Area, most with international-sounding names and big hearts, were an absolute delight to meet and photograph. Their energy was infectious; they couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly, or full of joy, AND they enjoyed being photographed. Unfortunately, their beautiful baby, Dima was not feeling well so Sofia’s parents made a quick entrance and exit with Dima.
And then there was Sofia — radiant in her dress, bathed in backlight that set my camera alight. She and Andre share a quiet, easy chemistry that speaks louder than words. Watching them together felt like watching light and laughter dance in the same frame.
As the sun dipped low, guests gathered for a delicious Portuguese feast by Atelie Gastromique, sharing stories, laughter, and dancing, late into the evening. It was everything a wedding should be.
Days like this remind me why I love what I do: being invited into moments of connection, surrounded by people who celebrate love in all its forms.
Congratulations, Sofia and Andre! Your complete gallery will be ready soon!🌲💛
