Entering the room where Ryan & his Groomsmen were getting ready, there was music playing, the TV was on, beers were open & the guys were kickin ‘back, relaxing & slowly getting themselves ready for the wedding after just coming back from the pool.  Ryan was busy helping his groomsmen get their ties and boutonnieres on properly. While on the other end of the Inn, Melissa was getting her hair done, her makeup put on and covering the  last few details of their wedding to make sure their big day went smooth as ice (ahhhhh nice cold and cool ice).…

Well, apparently Gretchen loves pink! (you think?) After a wonderful engagement session up in high country I knew this wedding was going to be a fun one. Gretchen and Matt decided to see each other before the wedding. This can be a really nice way to go and can really cut down on the time needed to take photographs after the wedding. It gets you to your reception faster! However, the best part is, that they get to see each other all dressed and ready to go (almost in private) and then have a few quiet moments with each other…

Earlier this year I went to San Fransisco to shoot Karl & Lauren’s engagement session and it was typical SF weather- foggy, raining, and misty but I was pleased that the weather didn’t keep them from the shoot and they were probably equally pleased that I didn’t mind getting my gear wet for their shoot! We all enjoyed ourselves running around like Golden Retrievers on the beach! Karl & Lauren held their wedding in the Redwood Grove on the UC Berkeley campus and had their reception right across the street at the Botanical Garden; both places were amazing and beautiful!…

Nicole and Treb had to change their wedding venue midway through their plans as their original venue seemed to be going out of business(accent on “seemed” which is not a great feeling for a couple who were planning a very large wedding). Shift forward to the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento and one starts to wonder if it was meant to be. A gorgeous, classy and modern hotel with a flavor of politics added in due to it’s location and tremendous views of the Capital. Ain’t love grand? Today I was supposed to be updating my website, which I did, sort of. I got side tracked and made a post about my 25th high school reunion(see below) and then started to work on updating my couples section. At the end of the day, I must admit, I am not much of an editor and instead of choosing a few images to use to update my site, I created a slideshow with well, many of my favorites. Lauren and Karl were referred to me by my friend Sharon who was referred to me by my friend Renee. I think Renee found one of my flyers at the winery where she worked at the time. Lauren and Karl seemed to be in the spirit of most of my referrals- happy, loving life and ready for anything. I love that! Most of the time, I meet all my couples prior to their booking me for their wedding. Because they live in San Francisco, I had not met Melissa and Ryan until we landed in the parking lot at Baker Beach to start their engagement session. It didn’t matter- We all had a great time getting to know each other while taking advantage of the amazing light on the Golden Gate Bridge.
