  • How cool is it to be a high school senior and working towards your pilot’s license? I know I’m impressed but definitely not surprised. Jack- serious and goofy, bright, humble and funny… gentle and kind ALL in the same breath. Jack’s the oldest of those  and talented Gray family kids. We all love them. Having known Jack (my oldest is the same age) since he was a pre-schooler at Miss Ruthie’s Emigrant Trail and to see him now navigating the airspace around the Cameron Park Airport- is a blunt reality check. These amazing kiddos are all grown up and getting…

  • I’m just going to come right out and say it. This was such a fun session. I’ve known Naomi since I photographed her in preschool and she and my oldest daughter participated in several activities together over the years before The Higgins Family moved to Folsom where Naomi now attends Oak Ridge High School. From an early age Naomi was all about swimming. She swam 6 hours a day(except Sunday when her family went to church). When she told me this, I kinda shook my head in disbelief and asked for clarification. She said, “from 4-7am and then again from…

  • Zoie. Vivacious, fun, spunky, (my neighbor) and such a beautiful young lady. Currently a high school senior at Union Mine in El Dorado, CA playing on the basketball team, working for the infamous and adored, John Sanders at the Old Town Grill in Placerville and looking forward to graduating this coming May. After graduation Zoie plans to become a paramedic because she “wants to help people who really need it” and “doesn’t want people to go through trauma if she can help it”. LOVE her heart. In her spare time she likes to read, ride motor cross and hang out…

  • Elise’s world came caving in this past January when in a few short weeks she lost both her healthy father to a unimaginable heart attack and her home and belongings to a fire. I don’t think anyone can fathom this loss. Elise and my daughter have known each other since grade school and often played soccer together on the same team. Elise’s dad Joe, one of the kindest and most generous people you will ever know, was a friend of ours and his loss is felt deeply in our community. Elise graduates from Union Mine this May and like most…

  • Photographing Phoebe- That cute red haircut, that beautiful smile peeking through the wildflowers- all in the loveliness of the late afternoon light….. Come May, Phoebe will be tossing that cap in the air at the Ponderosa High School graduation and become a part of the class of 2019. With a passion for zoology, she plans to stay local for a couple years at FLC and then transfer to another college. Such a very exciting time of life. I wish you the very best in your next adventure!

  • “Sister is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship.” – Margaret Mead As the mother of two high school girls, just about 3 years apart and away at a boarding school together in Virginia, I am so grateful that they have each other to lean on.  I had a feeling their relationship would strengthen outside of our home, and it is. This was my sincere hope. I was so happy to get together with the Lockwood sisters recently for some new photographs. Beautiful girls. Rylee is a high…

  • Emma and Marcus, born on the same date, and graduating from Ponderosa High School on the same date too! What a treat to not only get to capture the personalities of each of these dynamic, personable and intelligent kids but also their personalities and connection, together, as bother and sister, as twins. They have a lovely nurturing relationship and my camera had a great time and I did too…and we all enjoyed the gorgeous evening light down by the river. We started at Home Depot, all hopping into my car and driving down to Coloma together where I asked them…

  • Wherever you go, go with all your heart.  ~Confucius And so it goes…later this month Paige will grab her royal blue cap and gown and gracefully cross the stage at El Dorado High School as she retrieves her diploma. Wow. 16 years later. Our families have been friends since 2002 when Jaci, Paige’s mom had a daycare center that our children attended for years. In fact, back in the day, Jaci also used to work for me and I have always valued her as a worker, caregiver and friend. What a treat to get to photograph her oldest daughter- such a…

  • I think it went something like this… Kaydence, Amber’s oldest, performed at Rockin’ on the Ridge, a broad showcase of musical talent from the guitar club. “Little” Kaydence wasn’t so little anymore and all of us who saw her live or on social media the next day, saw it too. I remember thinking to myself, “Is that really Kaydence?” Amber must have thought to herself, as many of us are thinking in these end-of -the-school-year days, “Omg, what the heck happened?” Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Amber asking if we could go out and capture some images of…
