  • This was such a beautiful wedding for Jean and Bruce, who married recently at the Wedgewood Sequoia in Placerville. Their wedding brought together two families of different cultures, and the bride’s three children, Miguel, Paolo, and Alaina, who all took part in the wedding. The day began with Jean getting ready at the lovely Seasons Bed and Breakfast which is a gorgeous, remodeled historic house furnished with 18th century European furniture, and surrounded by beautiful porches and gardens –  a photographer’s candy store! The patio and gazebo were also the perfect setting for the couple’s “First Look”. Jean and Bruce are such…

  • Katrina and Joe were married recently at the beautiful Apple Mountain Golf Resort  in Camino, CA and on one of the hottest days of the year so far; when the temperatures hit 106 in the foothills, you know you’re in the middle of a heat-wave! We began our day getting ready at the Cary Hotel on Main Street in Placerville, where it was fun (and cool… literally) to incorporate some indoor shots of downtown and the historic hotel. I just love the dramatic light in the portraits of both Katrina and Joe sitting on the sofa there. Then we moved…

  • When Kayla and Cameron planned their wedding for mid-February in the foothills, I’m betting they did not imagine the weather would be so utterly perfect for them. At 60 degrees with bright sunshine flooding in through the windows of the Sequoia’s upstairs dressing rooms, the light was gorgeous and the temperature perfect for Kayla’s beautiful, strapless dress. I loved this couple’s “first look” prior to their ceremony. There was a real sense of romance in the air, with Kayla and Cameron tenderly touching and nuzzling one another without direction. Although there were several people watching, it felt like we were…

  • As you might remember, last month I photographed Jodi and Jeremy’s wedding at Wedgewood Sequoia in Placerville. I am honored to have been chosen to be the preferred referral for the venue and in turn, get to work with a fine team of professionals. Here is the back story: Helping to turn a very important day around for one of my brides…. I received a few requests to see more images from this wedding as I think the story of Jodi’s wedding day “nightmare” struck a compassionate chord in many of you. It really seems inexcusable, but unfortunately not unheard…

  • I had fun with Bill and Stephanie from the moment I met them. Photographing them is like a playful jam in which the banter back and forth becomes part of the capture-freestyle. Their gorgeous wedding was set in Stephanie’s parents’ backyard and thanks to Bill and his “now” father in law who put in so many hours adding koi ponds, pavers and landscaping to prepare for the big day. After the dance floor was installed over the pool we were set to go! Bill of course gave me his signature pose -both arms up in the air- like he won…

  • Karen and Erin got married at High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens in mid August. I hadn’t shot at that location in awhile and there were some beautiful upgrades to the property including uplighting on the trees behind the dance floor and a cool little cabana for the bar. Surrounded by family and friends Karen and Erin exchanged their vows and started the celebration of their married lives together. With details everywhere expressing their love of the outdoors, they seemed to choose vendors who were the same. It was a great team to work with. The event was coordinated by…

  • I had another great evening at Sly Park lake enjoying the wonderful light during an engagement session with Bill and Stephanie. They have been together for four years and are counting down the days/minutes to their all-day celebration at Stephanie’s parents home in Placerville. Bill and Stephanie are fun and fun with each other. Stephanie is super easy going and a natural beauty. When Bill is not helping to plan the wedding(ie construction at the Cutter home) he is out on the river on his jet ski. He has invited me to join him and his friends, to photograph them…

  • Even a week before a wedding, an engagement session still has so many benefits. I got to meet Albert and Melissa and see how they are as a couple outside of what sometimes can be wedding day craziness. We got to go sit out in the dirt with the farm animals at Fausel Ranch. And as a bonus, I got to see my friend Deanna the owner and coordinator at Fausel Ranch who is also just happens to be Albert’s mom…not to mention I left with a case of peaches that were amazing, thanks Fausels- you always take such good care…

  • If any of you have ever been to Fausel Ranch, whether for a wedding or to buy some of their fabulous summer fruit, you have more than likely met Deanna and David, the owners of Fausel Ranch. I’ve had the honor of getting to work with Deanna several times now, and this past weekend, I was honored to be chosen this time,  to work for her at her son’s wedding. Melissa and Albert decided to be the first couple to be married under the gazebo on the ranch, and I loved how they centered the entire evening around it. It…
