I’m a photographer with a camera… well, a few of them. And honestly, I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I get to do a job I love, and year after year, I get to meet incredible people and stay connected with them as their lives grow and change. The Hayashi family is no exception. From Ross and Kristy’s wedding over 16 years ago, we hit it off right away, and over the years Ross and I have swapped photography tips and gear ideas like photography junkies should.
And while we don’t do this every year, this year’s session felt a bit like catching up with old friends rather than “working.” The kids have grown, and the ease of rapport still exists, as somehow we all fall right back into a familiar rhythm. That’s my favorite part of what I do—seeing these tiny snapshots of people’s lives turn into a whole story over the years. And with the Hayashis, it’s been a joy to watch these chapters unfold.
I posted a few links to previous blogs over the years–so fun…wish I could have found their wedding blog, but maybe I didn’t have a blog 16 year ago. I can honestly say, I don’t remember! Onward!
