  • Some of my favorite things and all at once-so energizing! Out on the water, late afternoon light, cool, old, and impeccably maintained Besotes boat, and the son of some dear friends whom I’ve been photographing since their kids were tiny. JACK IS ENGAGED! Isn’t he still an eighth grader at Sierra Ridge? Ok- I digress. I got to meet Dana, who is awesome, beautiful and kind, just like Jack said, as we drove together up to Ice House Lake. Self-admittedly, they are both a little camera-shy, so I appreciated knowing Jack well enough to joke around with him, which I…

  • Devyn and Aaron chose to wait until Devyn walked down the aisle to see each other for the first time. Having never met them before until their wedding day, it was in that moment that I saw the love they shared. Devyn’s nerves melted into a big ol YES as they spoke their vows to each other. Devyn and Aaron share an enjoyment for most things outdoors, including hiking, camping and fishing. They chose a summer camp theme for their decor with tables designated by National Parks. The evening took off with some hilarious toasts(and roasts) that led into a…

  •   Let me just say, THIS wedding! Right out of the gate, Julie and Nick grabbed at your heart with their joy and kindness, where you instantly felt like you were where you were supposed to be. What a gift they have, and it got double-activated as they expressed their love for each other in a beautiful riverside ceremony. Camp Lotus and the South Fork were decked out in lanterns, river-themed seating charts and tables along with their favorite raft, “the shredder”. These two re-found their love for each other while traveling, skiing, camping and rafting after a long time…

  • An Eagle symbolizes freedom, power, vision, spiritual connection, and new beginnings across many cultures. Eagles are revered in Native American cultures and can appear in dreams or as spirit animals to encourage individuals to reach for their potential, gain clarity, and face challenges with courage and resilience.  Imagine standing on a mountain top in high country, snug somewhere between Alpine Meadows and Palisades. You’re at White Wolf Tahoe (my new favorite venue). It’s your wedding day and you’re seeing your partner for the first time right in the middle of some of the most spectacular vistas around: the boulders, the trees,…

  • Jeff and Jonna exchanged their vows in front of 25 family and friends in the sweetest side-patio wedding at Serrano Country Club. While I’ve photographed many weddings at Serrano, it was my first time doing a ceremony on the side-patio and it was the perfect intimate setting, gently shaded by green vines overhanging on the terrace. The ceremony was officiated by Jeff’s brother, Anthony and Jeff’s children Sean and Marie were also present.  Sean, Jeff’s son, brought the rings to the ceremony. Jonna looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and the two of them were so kind and happy. I’ve…

  • At the end of May my beautiful niece, Azure (my brother’s daughter) married her love, Andrew in Narragansett, RI in a small sixty-person wedding that was absolute perfection. Having photographed over 400 weddings, I’m increasingly drawn to the small weddings. They’re personal, they’re intimate and as a guest, you get to know their community. As a couple, you get to spend time with ALL of your guests.  My husband and I helped my mom travel from California for this celebration so it was extra special that she was able to be there. Months ago, Azure and I chatted about what…

  • This was just one of those weddings. I got a call from Sara about two weeks before the day they planned to marry. We talked extensively about their individual stories and their together stories and the meaning and love surrounding this day. They wanted beautiful photographs captured of their union and wow, what a day it was! Let me be clear, I am a photographer, not a writer. Sara, on the other had- words seem to flow for her, so I’ll keep this brief and let the images do the story telling. What started as a courthouse wedding in Placerville…

  • What a beautiful day this was for Team JV. Not only did Josh and Veronica tie the knot, surrounded by dear family and friends, they did it their way. It could have easily been 100+ degrees at this Sacramento venue, Black Oak Estates but it wasn’t. It was a sweet 80 degrees with a big blue sky and puffy clouds. My good friend Melanie referred me to Veronica, and we connected easily. Team JV wanted a big party, a small ceremony and a warm gathering for friends and family to celebrate their love. Josh’s daughter, Briana, officiated the ceremony while…
