Some of my favorite things and all at once-so energizing! Out on the water, late afternoon light, cool, old, and impeccably maintained Besotes boat, and the son of some dear friends whom I’ve been photographing since their kids were tiny. JACK IS ENGAGED! Isn’t he still an eighth grader at Sierra Ridge? Ok- I digress. I got to meet Dana, who is awesome, beautiful and kind, just like Jack said, as we drove together up to Ice House Lake. Self-admittedly, they are both a little camera-shy, so I appreciated knowing Jack well enough to joke around with him, which I think helped them both loosen up. Bob, Jack’s dad wore many hats that day, from boat towing, launching, carrying my camera backpack around, eating chips, chatting with Connie and Jeff who happened to be up there, driving the boat as needed, and then COMMS from shore to help me direct them into pockets of light and all that” the suns going down quickly” stuff. Bob knows me and is an artist himself- it’s always about the light. He’s also credited with taking a favorite personal photo, which is shown on my website and is called “The Huntress.” It’s pretty typical of me in the wild.
