Northern California Family Photographer

I’ve been photographing the Anderson family for close to a decade now, and I was excited to hear that with family visiting from out of state it was time for an extended family session. We all met up at Sly Park Lake and found a beautiful field of flowers to work in. The kids had a blast running around, sword fighting with sticks, and just being kids. I love connecting with clients each year for their annual family portraits, and being able to capture big family gatherings like this. Thanks to second shooter, Anna Vollmer!

Recently I got the opportunity to photograph a very special day for the Barba Family. Their twins Gwyn and Drew were being baptized on their first birthday with a big family and friends celebration to follow at the beautiful Van Der Vijver Estate Winery in Fairplay. And if that wasn’t enough Kate and Pete, their parents, were celebrating a 10th wedding anniversary with a Vow Renewal ceremony. Todd and Linda were a first for me. They are looking to adopt a newborn to 5 year old in the near future, and needed some fun photographs taken of the two of them to use for their adoption profiles. Linda has grown children of her own, and now after 16 years of marriage, they want to become parents together. We started off at Boeger Winery in Placerville, and then ended the session at their house playing with the puppies that Linda breeds. Thank you to the Haus family for having me down to their home in Pleasant Valley to capture their family in photographs. Their boys were so sweet and did such a great job on the shoot, especially given the length of it. As a photographer, you just have to keep the kids moving around. Meet Zoe, who is now a one year old. This gorgeous album documents her first year, starting during Tara’s pregnancy and finishing with Zoe’s birthday. The photographic cover(first image below) also includes an image on the back from Tony and Tara’s 2007 wedding. This album was designed by Robin of Doodle Do who definitely has the magic touch for these designs. Tara’s “Baby Package” (3 shoots over baby’s first year and a year end album + an add on extra session) was purchased by several family members attending her baby shower and given to her growing family as a gift.…

It seems fitting to me that this first post of 2011 is about a birth as it is also the first post of my newly created Facebook Fan page, another birthing of sorts.
