Lindsey and her father Alan stood at the top of the stairs overlooking the ceremony for a few moments to simply take it all in. I love that- what’s the rush? Soak it all up along with the significance of this moment.
Who doesn’t love a wedding reception that spontaneously erupts into a conga line? Add in some wedding favors of stick-on mustaches and royalty hats- oh, yes, please- sign me up. Apparently, this is also Van Erden Thanksgiving tradition and the energy was celebratory and perfect – just the kind of impulsive fun I believe Erik and Ashlie were looking for to seal the deal. They were also looking for a beautiful location with a relaxed vibe to be married in. They wanted a place where their family and friends could celebrate alongside of them and a place where they could…
It’s not always “hitting the ground running” with a session, especially with toddlers and a timeframe. While this one started off a bit shaky, we were able to find a rhythm with Miss Madelynn and capture some lovely images. While I’m certain Mandy and Tom, whom I photographed their gorgeous spring wedding in the exact same location in 2019, were wishing they didn’t have an upset little one. I met up with Walden, his cool sunglasses, and his parents’ (Cathy and Brad) in Coloma last week. He came referred to me from The Celio/McCallick family and it doesn’t surprise me that Tracy knew we’d work well together. It was a session to celebrate Walden’s big accomplishment surrounded in the natural beauty of the great outdoors. The river was pretty high so we quickly shifted from Henningsen Park in Lotus to over by Mt. Murphy and the road bridge of the same name. Walden was easygoing, super positive and fun to work with. He has skied for the EDHS…
Hollyn and Linden attend Union Mine High School and will graduate this May. They both teach swimming and laughed in unison when they told me they always smell like chlorine.
G.E.T.T.O. an acronym that she learned from summer camp- “give everything to every opportunity”. She expresses, “Oftentimes we have the mindset that we “have to” do things in high school rather than “get to”… remembering the acronym allows us to be present and grateful for each moment and take each opportunity that four years in high school provide us.”
