Three daughters, three husbands and nine grandkids all together to celebrate Grammy Jane’s 75th

Ethan recently graduated from Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom playing on their soccer team. He was referred to me from another Vista Del Lago soccer family. He is another one of those 2020 graduates that had the carpet swiped out from under their feet this spring and the soccer season too. But like many of the grads I’ve met this year, while disappointed, they are all taking it in stride. What can you do?

On a cool but sun-splashed day, and on the 19th wedding anniversary of Kristen and Eric, my daughter/assistant Jaz and I met the Haus family upcountry to capture some family photos. The last time I got to capture the Haus family was back in 2011.

Alot happens in nine years even separate from the nine additional wedding anniversaries.

Everyone knows the Fausel family. Whether it’s their delicious peaches or cherries you await every year(and my mouths watering just thinking about them), or the Placerville Hardware store located on Main Street in a structure dating back to 1850, before the city of Placerville existed, or if you celebrated your wedding day on their gorgeous ranch, if you are local, you’ve likely met someone related to the Fausel family.

As I post these photographs, I think about the Class of 2020. I find myself reflecting about this year so far as it’s only June and we still have another seven months to go. What will 2021 bring? My thoughts take me forward a decade and even two decades as I think where will this country, world and planet be in 2030, 2040?

What a lucky boy you are to have the parents you have. I’ve known Meg and Brandon since their engagement in 2016 and I’m always honored when my wedding couples reach out to me to continue capturing their life milestones, these two in particular. As I posted this, “new parents any day now” Brooke has arrived!  Courtney and Joel are going to be new parents any day now and I understand their excitement. They’re embarking on a journey that they really know nothing about first hand- but they’re moving forward with joy, love and anticipation for what is next, together. TOGETHER.
