Lake Tahoe Family Photographer

The last time I met up with Elizabeth and Greg we were at Sand Harbor and Hudson, their oldest now, was getting ready to make his grand appearance. This was in 2019. Now Hudson is almost 5 and Perry is almost 4. Super cute and ALL BOY! We ran, we built castles, collected pinecones, looked for critters and at the end we succumbed to the lake. They were ready. Thanks, Elizabeth and Greg and also to my husband Jeff who joined me on this one to help with the reflector.

What better time to capture your family? Everyone is on vacation, relaxed and spending time together! This time was Lake Tahoe for the Weinberger family who captures their family every year at a new location….how fun! The Weinberger traveled from Houston a couple of weeks ago and we met at at Sand Harbor. Sam (8) immediately reached out his hand and introduced himself. That was impressive! I love the process of meeting new families and getting the opportunity to capture something real with my camera. It usually takes a little to get everyone warmed up though it makes me smile when I see it happen. Those little moments where smiles are natural, makes me smile. Sure we had help from a couple cute family doggies who are incredibly loved as well as a curious, local crow. Henningsen Lotus Park is a favorite location to photograph at and especially in the fall. When Laura contacted me to capture some images of her family, earlier this fall, in their family home before they moved- we had to reschedule at least 4 times or more due to all the smoke in the air. On a cool but sun-splashed day, and on the 19th wedding anniversary of Kristen and Eric, my daughter/assistant Jaz and I met the Haus family upcountry to capture some family photos. The last time I got to capture the Haus family was back in 2011.

Alot happens in nine years even separate from the nine additional wedding anniversaries.

Some families just have it. Sure it often takes a little to get warmed up to a camera in front of you and I get that. Though, some families are able to just settle into their own unique vibe rather easily. That was my experience with the McDaniel family. Alot happens in a year. Jaz and I met up with Elizabeth and Greg at Sand Harbor on their one year anniversary. They got married at Edgewood just a year prior and were celebrating in Tahoe with their first baby, Hudson to arrive in just a couple months. It was a sweet session as we chased around the light and Elizabeth was a trooper!
