Ponderosa Senior photography

I discovered quickly that I could not move the jumping obstacles to where I wanted them …sigh. I kept sending him back for another loop. He didn’t care. He was stoked that his senior session turned into a photo session showcasing his motocross passion.

Beautiful, Sophia with a gentle, kind and playful personality graduates this May with the Class of 2024. At Union Mine High School she has been the assistant director for their Theater performances. Communication, time management, dedication, enthusiasm, leadership, and the ability to work under pressure-these are great skills to learn in high school and she loves being part of the team that gives a performance shape and brings it to life from the side of the stage. On the morning of the eclipse I write this post about Aidan, a future space engineer. Last week, we met up and tromped around through the woods off of Bass Lake Road to a favorite mountain biking spot that this Class of ’24  “graduate to be” wanted to share. While likely Cal Poly bound this fall to study Mechanical Engineering, his plans extend further to a Masters in Aerospace Engineering. You studied, you tested, you worked hard for years, and the time is officially here! It’s time to start thinking about senior photographs and I’m eager to collaborate with you to create photographs that you love. As a photographer, I want to make sure you are comfortable and having fun during your session.

He is in the marching band, jazz band, concert and honor bands….it’s a wonder we even found time to get him out to the Zinnia’s and gorgeous fall colors for his Apple Hill Senior session.

G.E.T.T.O. an acronym that she learned from summer camp- “give everything to every opportunity”.  She expresses, “Oftentimes we have the mindset that we “have to” do things in high school rather than “get to”… remembering the acronym allows us to be present and grateful for each moment and take each opportunity that four years in high school provide us.”

She’s such a lovely human and it was a wonderful morning spinning, jumping, pointing, and laughing. (rinse and repeat). Of course, this Cal Poly Environmental Science major (to be) can easily become “one” with these beautiful branches of an old fallen tree in a field of late afternoon light. Kaitlin is as kind as they come and those green eyes and gorgeous whispy locks frame that beautiful smile thAt sets you at ease the moment you meet her. Ember (my assistant) and I had such a great time playing in the late afternoon light with Kaitlin and her mom. Honestly, I think being in the creative flow AND playing in the late afternoon light is my most favorite place…

What fun it was connecting with the Roberts family again, this time for Liam’s senior photographs. Back in 2019 I photographed his sister, Phoebe. Liam was just as photogenic and charming. He brought with him a water polo ball and a carefree, super positive attitude. His smile and laugh float comfortably alongside his easy-going personality. While admittedly a little nervous about all the changes next year, I have no doubt that he’ll settle right into college life. He graduates from Ponderosa this May and will attend Austin College in Texas to study computer science. He hopes to compete on their…
