Everyone knows that one of my favorite parts about living in Pollock Pines is the proximity to some amazing outdoor adventures. With Sierra at Tahoe so close, I enjoy skiing bluebird days on the mountain, zigging and zagging through the fresh, warm and sunny air with friends and family.
So what could be better than that? Having the opportunity to photograph a family who shares the same love for the mountain energy and snow as I do! Emily and Nick are avid snowboarders who may have found love in each other, but chose a place they both love to make their promise towards forever: the 360 Smokehouse BBQ at Sierra At Tahoe, overlooking Lake Tahoe, years ago. I absolutely adore engagement stories, but when they come with a heavy dose of outdoor fun – bonus points!
I was lucky to meet Emily at Pinetop Montessori when I was there photographing her two boys Jaxon and Emmitt. Emily loved the idea of a family ski session at the Sierra At Tahoe, and one beautiful afternoon in March we made it all happen! With my husband Jeff assisting as chief sherpa, kid corral-er and sunglass loaner (snow blindness is for real), and Emily and Nick giving their boys lots of opportunities for fun and freedom, the day was filled with authentic moments that truly capture how sweet and lovely this family really is.
Thanks to the record snowfall we received this winter, my ski sessions are still going strong! It’s time to book that family session. Sooooo…If you like drinking hot cocoa / and getting caught in the snow / I’m the photographer you’ve looked for / write to me and let’s go!
