“When I hear that robin sing Well I know it’s coming on spring Oo we and we’re starting a new life” Van Morrison, Starting a New Life Miss Claire can’t wait to meet her new little sister at the end of this month, but until then, it’s all about this spunky toddler. She’s just as you’d imagine any toddler to be- curious, cute, adventurous and of course, sometimes demanding. Standing on the shoreline, Claire kept pointing at the lake and then to Dan- saying, “FISH”! Was it a noun, a verb? Not sure but I do think the gist was…
Lola and Chris are expecting their first child at the beginning of April so last week was perfect timing to get in some photographs down at the lake. Lola wore a beautiful, flowing blue dress and was a trooper out in the snow. Chris stood close by putting a big blanket around her between shots. Chris’s stepfather Scott came along and helped including hoping one of my lights as needed. Next month, I’ll get to meet the little one when we get together for some newborn photos. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
So far, Ember and I have been out for two senior sessions….one of the perks I imagine of having a mom who is a photographer. The first session was in downtown Sac with her good friend Fiona and then we went out again to Sly Park Lake while I was testing out my new camera, a Z6ii, mirrorless. The next session I promised her is with her famous and spoiled cat, Trouble…so stay tuned. It’s sure to be a quick one. I can’t believe my youngest is now a high school senior and graduating this May from CUP in Placerville.…
They were so easy to photograph and it made me wonder if engaged to “already be married” sessions provide just that extra nudge of comfortability with each other.
Upon arriving at Heavenly a little early, I met a new friend Gary who saw me trying to make sense of the ski run map. He had been skiing at Heavenly for decades and was gracious enough to offer to give me a tour of some primo locations for photographs.
It’s not just varsity basketball at El Dorado High that keeps this athletic, young lady going- don’t forget water polo and Tae Kwon Do of which she has three different black belts. WOW! Talk about dedication.
This time of year I get asked about mini sessions. My version of a mini session is a 30-minute session, with the digital files included in the cost. For me, trying to squeeze in a line of families every 15-20 minutes, back to back, doesn’t allow me the time to allow something unique to happen. We can get alot done in 30 minutes…and I still feel like I’m moving quickly. Basically, I’ll take the connection with my customers any old day versus rushing people through. It’s the way I prefer to work. This was the second year I have photographed…
Fast forward to 2021- and there I was photographing the graduating Jessica at Sly Park Lake just an hour or so before homecoming began at Union Mine. Right? Why not schedule a session when you’re all dolled up ready to roll?
