  • At the end of May my beautiful niece, Azure (my brother’s daughter) married her love, Andrew in Narragansett, RI in a small sixty-person wedding that was absolute perfection. Having photographed over 400 weddings, I’m increasingly drawn to the small weddings. They’re personal, they’re intimate and as a guest, you get to know their community. As a couple, you get to spend time with ALL of your guests.  My husband and I helped my mom travel from California for this celebration so it was extra special that she was able to be there. Months ago, Azure and I chatted about what…

  • What a beautiful day this was for Team JV. Not only did Josh and Veronica tie the knot, surrounded by dear family and friends, they did it their way. It could have easily been 100+ degrees at this Sacramento venue, Black Oak Estates but it wasn’t. It was a sweet 80 degrees with a big blue sky and puffy clouds. My good friend Melanie referred me to Veronica, and we connected easily. Team JV wanted a big party, a small ceremony and a warm gathering for friends and family to celebrate their love. Josh’s daughter, Briana, officiated the ceremony while…

  • As this year is about to close, here is my last wedding of 2023 – Juliana and Evan. Gorgeous day, gorgeous location, gorgeous couple- and while I admit bias, they’re one of the sweetest couples I’ve had this year. I’ve photographed Juliana and her family several times over the years after meeting them through a dear mutual friend. I was honored to get to capture these moments for them. I love a good “meet cute” and this one places both of them in Salem, Oregon where they were both working and going to University. Juliana was asked to rearrange a…

  • I love these two! And, as it often goes, I met Soudi and Mike at a wedding this summer where they were part of the wedding party of another wedding I was photographing. Referrals are the best and usually yield super kind and cool folks. Mike and Soudi were married at the Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion in Placerville in the Veranda room on a beautiful winter day in December. Their nuptials includedboth an American ceremony and a traditional Persian ceremony. Mike’s uncle who is super funny and personable performed the American ceremony and Soudi’s dad, a bit more soft spoken, and…

  • High on a hill, with rows of vines shimmering in diffused light and gently sloping southeast, Elena and Josh exchanged vows at the home of Elena’s parents, Tim and Karen Jolly, owners of a beautiful vineyard and farm, WindRush. Out in the mid-day sun of a vineyard, this exposed location could have sent us photographers seeking shade to find the most flattering light, but not today. The clouds softened the light before it hit the ground all day long while we hit the ground running to capture their wedding day. Avoiding a forecasted rain, there was just a slight hint…

  • September was locals’ month for me. Ryan and Stephanie’s wedding was the 2nd local-family wedding that I had in September and at a local venue, Shadowridge Ranch. I enjoy witnessing these milestones with people I know. It’s fun to have an insider perspective at a wedding. Over the past decade, I’ve photographed all three of the O’Rilley kids as they graduated from a high school senior to an adult. Here are Ryan’s senior pics, for fun. Just last year, I got a chance to meet Stephanie, Ryan’s girlfriend for the first time while photographing the whole family at the lake.…

  • High School sweethearts and “friends first”, Nick and Anja got married 10 years after they first started dating. The history of ten years of dating made for alot of storytelling (and great expressions) during the toasts- lots of laughing. And that’s the way it was all day….they were surrounded in joy, warmth and the “love of life” vibe of friends and family.

  • After arriving at Nikhil and Disha’s hotel at 6:15am, and finally getting to meet the two of them, their elopement day began. Nikhil and I had spoke numerous times over the last month and I was touched at all the love he put into making this a perfect day for his bride. He was marrying his love. They were smitten. I captured a few getting ready shots including with Disha’s sister, Saloni and then a first look at the hotel on our way out the door to meet up with our pilot Tim from @skydrifters in Amador County to enjoy…
