A-WEDDING LOCATIONS- Foothills

  • Well, I intended for this to be a sneak peek, but I had a hard time choosing just a few favorites so I landed at a blog post. Which are your top five favorites? There was SO MUCH love in the air, sprinkled with a handful of magical, to capture with my camera. The color of the late afternoon light washed over the event. I don’t know how to describe it- it was a large wedding that had that gentle feeling of a small, homespun but très élégante event– not too much, and just enough. Perhaps it was the community…

  • High School sweethearts and “friends first”, Nick and Anja got married 10 years after they first started dating. The history of ten years of dating made for alot of storytelling (and great expressions) during the toasts- lots of laughing. And that’s the way it was all day….they were surrounded in joy, warmth and the “love of life” vibe of friends and family.

  • Alyson and Frankie were ready to marry and decided to keep it small in order to do so.  Micro-wedding’s are becoming quite popular in these Covid days and I have to say- I love them as there is so much more focus on the couple and on the ceremony. Alyson and Frankie exchanged vows at the beautiful Newcastle Wedding Gardens & Red Horse Barn. Whoever ordered up that fabulous day in January- thank you. I ran around outside with the warm sun on my shoulders all day long! What a treat to again work with some fabulous vendors too! Here…

  • Maureen and Curt got married at a barn burner surrounded by the love of family and friends and the most delicious food(yay! paella) AND at one of my favorite venues, Fausel Ranch. A pretty stellar evening. This was in June of 2018. After buying a new home in Alameda and a honeymoon in New Zealand, they got to work on a few projects including some home renovations and baby construction. Little Odin arrived in September and I met up with their new expanded family at Fausel to capture them all, including Lucy, their rescue dog who enjoyed the wide open…

  • Everyone knows the Fausel family. Whether it’s their delicious peaches or cherries you await every year(and my mouths watering just thinking about them), or the Placerville Hardware store located on Main Street in a structure dating back to 1850, before the city of Placerville existed, or if you celebrated your wedding day on their gorgeous ranch, if you are local, you’ve likely met someone related to the Fausel family.

  • I firmly believe that you can gauge the vibe of someone by the tribe they attract to them. If the guests at Laura and Bradley’s wedding are anything to go by, this couple is authentic, fun, and playful. I mean, what a wedding! We had SO.MUCH.FUN. Our day began at the beautiful and rustic Prospect 772 winery in Angel’s Camp, enjoying the laid-back vibe of Laura and Bradley’s closest friends and family while the couple got ready for their nuptials. Although rain threatened and the sun tested us with its disappearing act, it was a wonderful, cool day for an October…

  • My summer weddings have been exceptional so far and it’s all about the lovely people I get to experience. I’ve had the honor to work with some of the sweetest, most laid back and connected couples. Maureen and Curt were no exception. Last year, when they contacted me they were very clear that they wanted wedding photography that told the story of their day elegantly and realistically without a lot of “cheesy” poses…and Maureen may have even said that. Fortunately Deanna from one of my absolute favorite venues Fausel Ranch, knew this about my work, that I prefer emotion and…

  • Love /luv/ (noun, verb, & everything in between) 1. sweethearts 2. gets better with time 3. the best kind of friendship Two days after Mandi and Tom celebrated their marriage on a gorgeous April day “made to order”, in a beautiful backyard ceremony, I headed east for a month long adventure to celebrate some of my own milestones including a birthday, a high school reunion, a graduation celebration and two weeks out of the country celebrating my own marriage, nineteen years ago. Mandi and Tom’s relationship began at a Mexican taqueria in Davis that had “terrible food” in 2013 after…

  • While these two are out starting their new lives together on their big cross country adventure to their new home in Tennessee, I thought it would be fun to post some of my favorite images from their Wedgewood Sequoia Mansion wedding earlier this month. I’m hoping they will get a chance to enjoy them on some mountain top, down in a canyon or even at a cool historic diner somewhere between here and there. Road trips rule! I loved working with Cambria and Craig. There was such a strong connection between them, and not only that, their friends and family…
